Join Walk Mornington Peninsula for an unforgettable evening adventure along one of the Peninsula’s most spectacular stretches of coastline.

As the sun begins to set, we’ll switch on our headlamps and set off along the Blairgowrie coastline, exploring winding coastal tracks, natural inclines and breathtaking lookouts as day turns to night.

Along the way, we’ll climb a series of steps to enjoy panoramic views across Bass Strait and Sorrento, before making our way down to the golden sands of Koonya Ocean Beach. Here, children will have the opportunity to explore the beach, listen to the crashing waves and experience the coastline in a completely different way after dark.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there…

We’ll continue on to a surprise location that we’re keeping under wraps. Let’s just say the kids should come ready for adventure—they may even end up with a little more sand in their shoes than when they started!

Halfway through our hike, we’ll pause for one of everyone’s favourite moments of the evening—hot chocolate, marshmallows and cookies while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the coast at night.

This is a relaxed, family-friendly adventure designed to encourage children to explore the outdoors, build confidence and create lasting memories with their families.

What to bring

Comfortable walking shoes or runners (no open toe shoes)
A small backpack to attach globe to
Water bottle
Warm jacket or jumper (temperatures can drop after sunset)
Any personal medication your child may require

Walk MP will provide torches and glowing backpack globes for each child, along with hot chocolate and cookies at the end of the walk.

Parents will receive a backpack globe too, but must bring their own torch or headlamp

Please note: All lighting equipment is provided for the adventure and will be collected at the end of the event.

Parents Please Read - Accompanying Adult Policy

Each family booking includes one (1) complimentary supervising adult.

If two or more children from the same family are attending, one additional accompanying adult may be added for $20.

Please note that this allowance applies per family, not per booking. Multiple bookings made for the same family do not include additional complimentary adults.

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, the number of accompanying adults must not exceed the number of children attending. These attendance limits will be enforced at check-in.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Before You Arrive

Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can fit backpack globes, hand out torches, and begin the adventure together.
There are toilet facilities at this location –
Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
To keep the experience fun, social, and centred around the kids, adults must not outnumber children within your booking, with a maximum of 2 adults per booking 💛

During the Experience

This is a group experience, and the walk will run as planned once underway.
Some children walk alongside their parent, while others naturally connect and walk within the group, both are completely okay
All torches, headlamps, and backpack globes are provided and will be collected at the end of the event.
If a child is unable to continue, a parent or guardian will need to accompany them back to the starting point.

Suitability

The trail includes some inclines, steps, and uneven ground, so a reasonable level of mobility is required.
This is a beginner-friendly experience, suitable for children who are comfortable walking the full distance.
This experience is not stroller-friendly and not suitable for children under 6 years old, including babies in carriers.
Please ensure your child is comfortable walking the full distance and participating in a group environment.

Weather Policy

Your safety comes first.
If conditions are unsafe, the event will be postponed or cancelled, and you’ll be offered a full refund or credit.
If you don’t hear from us via email, the event will go ahead as planned.
